I'm not sure if this is in time for the deadline - I don't know how Pacific Time relates to GMT - but here we are, finally.
Drawing is good, script also good. Only way I could criticise this is the colouring - or lack of. So pressed for time was I, that I had to use colouring pencils as opposed to the usual Photoshop techniques I employ. I'd hope this doesn't count against me, but at the end of the day the final decision lies with the judges.
So onto the concept for this. I could have chosen between either Quartz the eccentric pirate, or Apollo the transforming Galactic Viper. Owing to time constraints, I figured I'd go for the character most developed. He is lilac - don't call him pink, whatever you do XD
Full name: Quartz Clarkson Mechette.
Occupation: Sky pirate.
Constantly accompanying/harassing him is his pet cat, Shao Aren. He likes to wind Quartz up in as deadpan a manner as possible, which leads to many comedic interactions between the pair as Quartz struggles to assert his authority as Shao's owner.

Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
