First of a two-part series, Project MD - or Mephiles the Dark.
This is him in his 'shade' form, holding his beloved purple Chaos Emerald.
The purpose of drawing this was to try and get the hang of Sonic Team-style drawing and shading. My physical drawing was alright, but when using a mouse to line it, things went all shaky. Means I'll have to upgrade to a tablet at some point.
And the shading itself went alright ^^ I'm very happy with how it turned out in the end.
Part 2: True Mephiles, coming soon!

As far as the drawing, I couldn't believe you drew it at first. o_o
Only problem is head looks a little too far back, but otherwise, DAMN BRO
Mephiles is insanely bat-shit badass bro, did you not play the game he was in? The voice acting was perfect, and the plot so awesome. It's just a fucking shame that yeah, they effectively copied Shadow. When I first played it I honestly thought it WAS Shadow, just fucked up. As far as personality and character goes, Mephiles is up there with the best.
As for why I drew him? Not seen a Sonic-Team pic for him, so it seemed an ideal base to try the experiment on.
